Streaming APK issues / not working
If you are using some of the most popular streaming apk like cinema apk, cyberflix, tvzion, teatv, beetv, catmouse and more, then these past hours you may be facing an issue with the search function. Some rumours are already out there that the crackdown has started, other stating that the developers have parted ways and so on. But the truth is far more chilling than all these extreme opinions.
The Movie Database (TMDb) is a community built movie and TV database. And TMDb is an essential part of a lot of streaming apk and KODI add-ons. It serves the purpose of serving all those amazing details about a movie or tv show that you see on your screens and even more. Unfortunately, because of its popularity it frequently goes down. And even if the website is working fine, their API is not and that is why your preferred Android app or KODI addon is behaving the way it does.
Workaround of the TMDb API error
As per their tweet, search and discovery has been disabled, so you will see empty rows in the catalogs. However as a workaround you can switch to Trakt catalogs using the usual dropdown menus on most streaming apk so you can search and continue using the apps as usual.
If you plan on watching something later on today or tomorrow it might be a good idea to search and add it to your Debrid cloud, since as per their tweet it might take some time to resolve and if they end up complete disable the api temporarily, you’d be left hanging. So just to be safe consider adding it to your cloud so that even if it goes down you can still enjoy your content.
EDIT: The issue appears to be fixed right now but I will leave the article as it seems to be a frequent one. One think to remember is that their traffic is way too big, they frequently have slow-downs on their servers.
