What a nice surprise! I got the Cubot X19 in order to use it as my daily driver for a week and I ended up using it for a whole month. That much I liked it! Comes with a Helio P23 Octacore CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, B20 for LTE and 4G also in Europe and with a super low price, just under 107€ or 120$ from: https://dimitrology.com/buycubotx19. On the top of the device we find the headphone jack, thankfully there are still devices around that still support it. On the bottom ,we find from left to right, the microphone, the type-C connection and the speaker. The back is made of plastic and it tends to attract fingerprints easily.

The device is a Dual SIM smartphone or you can use one nano SIM and a micro SD card in order to expand the storage up to an extra 128GB.

You can get it in two colors, black or -in my case- the twilight color which is somehow trending right now. The display is FHD+ 2160 x 1080 pixels, IPS 5.93 inches with 408ppi and has great colors, viewing angles and brightness.

What surprized me even more was that the device supports VOLTE out of the box. Without anything from my part, the network recognized the VOLTE capabilities of the Cubot X19 and I was able to make HD calls right away. The reception is great and also the speaker has a good, clean audio.

The Dual Band WiFi 2.4G and 5G supports the b/g/n protocoll, that means it can reach speeds up to 100Mbps.

The devices doesn’t support Google’s Widevine L1, it goes to L3. That means that Netflix will not be in HD but you are stuck to 480p if you use it in order to watch or cast Netflix. The NFC chip and a pedometer sensor are missing. Not a deal breaker but some people may want to know. On the other hand, you can use your headphones as an external antenna when connected to listen to FM Radio with the built-in application provided by Cubot.

Cubot X19 Camera

The camera is it’s main disadvantage. Of course considering the price of the device which at the moment of my review is just 107€ / 120$ I wouldn’t expect more. But in good lighting conditions the photos are not bad, in dark situations though the camera struggles. The blur effect is very basic, in fact I wouldn’t even consider using. The video recording goes up to 1080p 30fps but the video files are saved in 3gp format. Selfie mode is also basic, good photos but not great. Also the camera app is a little old, nothing fancy just the basic operations.

What really got me excited though was the perfomance, no lags or issues. The device is snappy and multitasking works great. There was a minor issue with the adaptive light that would go low when in dark conditions but Cubot released an update and now works great.

The 4000mAh battery is great on a device like this. It could have been even better but at the end of the day I would still have an extra 20% even on a day that I used it a lot.

In my personal opinion, considering the price, I don’t think you can find anything better without at least spending 40-50 more. This is also why I feel recommending this device that may have a low price but works great. You can get it for 106.80€ or 119.90$ from: https://dimitrology.com/buycubotx19

Just wondering. Have you posted a review of a device which you didn’t like?

While the price is good…at least $135 US or about $180 AUD, 4GB of RAM won’t let you do much unless you’re running KitKat.
