The cpu is the Amlogic S912, an Octa-core 64bit with great performance that we find in other flagship TV Boxes in the market and the GPU, as suspected, the ARM Mali-T820MP3.
The very good specs continue with the connectivity of the Tanix TX9 Pro as well: Dual band WiFi of 2.4G and 5.8G, a High Speed Ethernet 1000M LAN port, Bluetooth 4.1, optical SPDIF out and 2 X USB 2.0. Also comes with a micro-SD slot. It only lacks of a USB 3.0 but that shouldn’t be a deal breaker for most people, considering also the very approachable price!
The already pre-installed fork of KODI isn’t that good. But I highly recommend you uninstall it and install the latest version of KODI 17.6 from the Google Playstore. The perfomance is excellent, I only noticed some issues with the x.264 codec in 4K that inside KODI isn’t that good. But 4K in HEVC is spectacular. Youtube is also playing flawlessly, supports 1080p and I had no issues with it. Fast and reliable.
The default launcher is the usual we find on most Android TV Boxes nowdays. It has a very fast performance but I only had an annoyance, the delay of the icon when going from the app drawer to the home screen. Nothing special, just a minor annoyance for my obsessive–compulsive disorder. I also got two updates since I started reviewing the Tanix TX9 Pro. It is always very appreciated when you receive frequent updates on your device. The brand recognizes the product and appreciates the customore for the trust he gave to them.
