The Xiaomi Mi TV doesn’t need a lot of introduction since it is one of the best Android TV devices you can get right now with great quality and excellent performance. Running on Android TV OS comes with a unique, small in size design and an excellent remote control with voice control. Spec-wise the Xiaomi Mi Android TV may not seem what you exactly expect from a top Android TV Box. Quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.0Ghz, a Penta-core Mali 450 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. But everything combined together work absolutely in perfect synch. In fact it is one of the smoothest Android TV devices in the range of under $100 whether you just want to use it as a Media Center or in order to play games! It also supports Dual Band WiFi b/g/n/ac with an internal antenna, an HDMI 2.0 port for real 4K at 60 frames per second, an optical / SPDIF output, 1 X USB 2.0 port and an AV port in case you have an older TV or a projector.

The included bluetooth remote control is fantastic. It has built-in voice commands so you remote control the Xiaomi Mi Android TV just by talking to it, a feature that only some devices have like the NVIDIA Shield and the Amazon Fire TV. Also being a Bluetooth remote is also much better and more than the necessary in order to control every aspect of your device. The included AAA batteries is also something we are not used to see in most devices on the market.

Also when using KODI 17.6 the Xiaomi Mi Android TV performs in an exceptional way. Everything works as it should and even on 4K playback at 60 frames per second the device didn’t experience any kind of problems, just flawless playback! The forth-coming version of KODI Leia 18 is also supported and although it is not out officially yet, it has also a great performance on the device. When playing Android games you will also enjoy your experience and since you have unlimited access to the Google’s Android TV Play Store dedicated section with tons of fantastic titles to choose from.

On the other hand the A95X PRO being a budget friendly Android TV OS device, is powered by the Amlogic S905W CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or internal storage and a Mali-450 GPU. Not so capable on playing games but it out-stands for the average multi-media usage when it comes to KODI, Plex, APK while also supporting Netflix in HD and Youtube in 4K. In fact it must be the cheapest device to offer such a service. Those are the main negatives of the A95X PRO but I am betting that a lot of people would not really mind. Based on Android 7.1 seems a perfect budget companion but since I have not tested it yet cannot say more about. I am waiting for this device so I will write more in the future for sure. On paper, the specs already make one of the best buys for this year.
